Be Impulsive and Reckless

I received a lot a backlash from my decision to move. I was told that it was impulsive. That is was reckless. That is was something I will regret. I was told that it was in my best interest to stay. Not once was I given any word of encouragement. Their doubt, lead me to believe that maybe they were they were right.

I don’t think people quite understand. I am young. I am supposed to be impulsive and reckless. Being impulsive and reckless allows me to live in the moment. This moment time in my life is all about exploring and finding out who I am. If I don’t, then I may never know.

I want to look back and be proud of my decision and not disappointed with it. Who cares what people tell you. It’s your life and the decisions you make are your own. If you don’t make impulsive decisions now, then you’ll spend the rest of your life hating yourself for not going through with it. You’ll spend more time worrying about all the things you didn’t do instead of all the things you have accomplished. It is in your best interest to do the things you want to do now because you’re young. You’ll thank yourself for it later.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
― Mark Twain

  2. Ammm sometimes the decisions you make when young are pretty reckless and impulsive and you can actually end up regretting them more than being proud of them… 🙂
